Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does organic cotton actually mean?
Cotton grown without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or GMO seeds
2. Why does Organic Cotton cost more / require a higher MOQ?
Up to 40% lower crop yields, labor-intensive farming, annual facility audits, transaction certificates, and testing add a 20% to 40% price premium on the raw fiber. Custom dyeing, preventing contamination, and dedicated storage to preserve organic integrity make small-batch runs economically unviable for large mills.
3. How does sampling & production work?
We look at Sampling as a step in the manufacturing process and not as a service in isolation. Therefore, we accept limited pre-order sampling requests, and only after we have clarity on your final collection and production viability. The sampling & manufacturing process is well-defined and milestone-based, for clarity and transparency.
4. How do I know the fabric is genuinely organic?Ask for a Transaction Certificate for the fabric, which is for your specific lot, not just a general Scope certificate.
5. Is the manufacturing facility also GOTS certified?
GOTS certified manufacturing facilities operate at a larger scale. So that is possible for regular and larger orders but for startups and small orders the fabric will be GOTS certified but the manufacturing may have to be carried out in a high quality but non GOTS certified facility.
6. Are the Organic Cotton fabrics tested in independent Labs?
We work closely with International REACH and CPSC certified labs like Eurofins, where we can help you to get any lab test done. Costs vary depending on the tests you want.
7. How long does it take to manufacture Organic clothes?
Fabric sourcing from top mills typically takes 25-30 days and actual production takes another 25-30 days. But you should also factor in the extra time taken in product development, sampling and finalising colours, prints, embroidery etc which can vary.
